The kodkod (Leopardus guigna) is a species of cat native to Chile and the bordering regions of Argentina. It inhabits moist temperate forests and is equally active in the day and night, venturing into open areas only after dark. The kodkod hunts rodents, birds, and reptiles. It is considered “Vulnerable” by the IUCN mainly due to habitat loss, but it is also killed for preying upon livestock like chickens. There may be as few as 10,000 individuals left.

Kodkods are the smallest species of Felidae in the Americas.
