This is how dumb I am:

I’ve always had the same cable for my Xbox and a shitty TV. Well, I got a new HD tv, but thought I needed an HDMI cable to actually play in HD. So, for Valentine’s Day, Jason got me an HDMI cable, and lo and behold, my Xbox doesn’t have an HDMI port.

Damn.

So, I go to Gamestop today and ask them for whatever cord it is I need, and they bring me one saying it should work, but I could return it if it doesn’t. I was suspect because it looked basically the same as the one I had, but the promise of an easy return sold me.

Well, once I get home, I compare the two and they’re the same, so I mess around on the Xbox and eventually figure out I need to take my TV off AV and put it on Component and BOOM. HD.

So, I could’ve had HD since I got this TV and have had the right cord the whole time, so now I need to return the one I bought today and either lie and tell them it didn’t work or tell them how stupid I am, and I’m not really wanting to have either conversation.

Hopefully the guy I talked to just won’t be there and I can just return it without curious questions.

Oh, also, my stupidity has rendered my Valentine’s gift useless and that makes me feel bad because Jason tried. Ugh.
