I should’ve elaborated further on my final point:

When women of all professions, including those in the sex industry and profit from having sex, are deemed respectable by our culture, the men our culture rears will no longer view them as expendable and worthless and we won’t see as much men raping and killing sex workers. To get there, we need to start walking the road and that starts with our laws in regard to sex work.
